ATLANTA, Ga. – This week, Dinners on a Dime features the best in local BBQ. Every Tuesday Where U Live chooses four favorite eats in your area for you to take your family and friends for a fabulous meal for a price that’s economically feasible in today’s economy.

Voted best BBQ in Jezebel Magazine, Atlanta Magazine, Points North Magazine and Atlanta Public Television the One Star Ranch embodies every characteristic of classic Atlanta BBQ. The restaurant that has been “serving up smiles” for over 25 years is a one stop shop when it comes to everyone’s summertime favorite. They are open seven days a week and boast a lunch and dinner menu with  full bar. The restaurant is located at 25 Irby Avenue in Atlanta.

Slopes, which has five locations in the metro Atlanta area is known as a “staple in the Roswell community”. The stores are independently run however; the flavor is consistent, across the board. Most menu items are under $10. Menu staples include the BBQ Pork Sandwich, BBQ Beef Brisket and their Brunswick stew. The restaurant started as a startup BBQ restaurant in Hickory Flat, Georgia. The restaurant is located at 34 Crossville Road in Roswell.

The Old Hickory House opened in 1953 at 1527 Northside Drive in Atlanta. Now, more than fifty years later, Bill and Jack Black’s restaurant is a staple in southern BBQ even with the former President of the United States. When Jimmy Carter moved to Washington D.C. he called the restaurant to have their famous BBQ and Brunswick stew shipped to the White House. The restaurant is located at 5490 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody.

Fox Brothers Bar-B-Q has been voted “Best BBQ in Atlanta” by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Creative Loafing, Zagat! And AOL Atlanta. They’re classified as a Texas Style Bar-B-Q “joint” because the owners are originally from Texas; however, they're excited to bring they Texas BBQ flavor the "Empire City of the South". The restaurant is located at 1238 DeKalb Avenue in Atlanta.

Pig-N-Chick is a great restaurant, according to some because it’s good and consistent. They are famous for their ribs and mustard sauce. The stew has won many awards and the pork is so tender that it, literally, falls off the bone. The food is moderately priced and the restaurant offers an abundance of sides. The restaurant is located at 7920 Roswell Road in Atlanta.

BBQ shack, Fat Matt’s is pretty popular in these parts. The restaurant is known for its live blues music and its award winning BBQ. This restaurant, located in Buckhead, isn’t your classic Buckhead eatery; this restaurant puts a hold on the frills. Seating is first come, first serve and even during its busiest hour; they don’t keep you waiting too long. Fat Matt’s is located at 1811 Piedmont Avenue in Atlanta.

P’Cheen, the O4W nook on Highland Avenue hosts its Bone Lick BBQ Night every Monday night and the locals love it. Once-a-week, the restaurant smokes some “really good barbecue” and dresses it for the party people to consume. The restaurant offers chicken, pork and beef along with the fixings. This special runs about $25, however, according to everyone, it’s worth every penny. P’Cheen is located at 701 Highland Avenue in Atlanta.
