An Atlanta's Music icon called Don Juan R. Ramírez-Hernández

Mexican Music composer Juan R. Ramírez-Hernández is an icon in the classical music and especially in Atlanta where he is a  violinist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, founder of the Atlanta Virtuosi Foundation, Inc. and the Buckhead Youth Orchestra, and conductor of the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra, began his study of music in Mexico. At age 14, he began studying with Henryk Szeryng, and continued as Szeryng became his principal mentor in Mexico, the U.S. and Europe.

According to U.S. Census Bureau latest report, Hispanic entrepreneurs create 35,000 new businesses each month.  Even so, a recent study presented by the Small Business Administration (S.B.A.) found that the average educational level of immigrant business owners is high school level.

El Club de Comerciantes, the top Hispanic Retail media organization will host a private VIP reception to recognize the contributions of Hispanics in the Arts and culture and this year will recognize Emmy Award Winning Mexican Composer Mr. Juan R.Ramirez-Hernandez, founder of The Atlanta Virtuosi and main violinist at the Atlanta Symphonic Orchestra.

This event attracts the top Hispanic business leaders and this year will include live music by San Juan Jam and the art work from Mexican Visual Artist J.Guillermo Jimenez, a young photographer that will be feature in the US for the first time.

ATLANTA, GA May 17, 2011 – Morgan Stanley Smith Barney announced today that Ronald Hart, a managing director of the Hart Group in the Firm’s Atlanta office, has been named to Barron’s annual list of America’s Top 100 Financial Advisors.

The “Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors” is a select group of individuals who are screened on a number of criteria. Among factors the survey takes into consideration are assets under management, revenue produced for the Firm and quality of service provided to clients. Investment performance is not an explicit criterion.

William Fadul and Rick Goldstein, co-owners of MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers], have been selected by Remodeling magazine to join the Remodeling Big50. MOSAIC Group is an Atlanta-based design/build company with Indoor and Outdoor Living Divisions.   MOSAIC Group was chosen for the Fine Design category, which includes remodelers with high aesthetic standards for their projects.   Each year since 1986, the Remodeling Big50 inducts 50 owners of remodeling companies that have set exceptionally high standards for professionalism and integrity through exemplary business practices, craftsmanship, and impact in their community or the industry at large.

The elegant event was held at Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s headquarters. 100 is a coalition of some of Atlanta’s most influential men organized to empower Atlanta’s challenged communities. Together they channel educational and economic resources toward these communities’ students and future leaders.

Commissioner receives go-ahead to create DeKalb Film Commission

DeKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- DeKalb County Commissioner Stan Watson recently received unanimous approval by his peers to launch the DeKalb Film Commission.

The DeKalb Film Commission will serve as the county's single point of contact for anyone interested in filming in DeKalb.

"DeKalb County has been named by the Georgia Film Industry as a Georgia Camera Ready County, and we are looking to embellish this designation," Watson said. "Strengthening DeKalb County's ties to the film industry will provide an economic development tool and potentially increase the county's tax revenues."

The film industry had an economic impact of over $1 billion in Georgia in 2010.
