CHAMBLEE, Ga. -- Just ten days into her reign, Miss America is serving others.
Mallory Hagan was at the IHOP on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Chamblee Tuesday morning cooking and serving up pancakes for the customers there. Hagan said it is to help her get ready for the Children's Miracle Network Pancake Day in Los Angeles, Calif., which comes up next month.
Hagan said she thinks she has the hang of it.
"Today I learned the proper way to flip a pancake," she told 11Alive. "It's two pumps of the pancake batter, then you wait for it to bubble a little bit. It's okay if there are bubbles, it's okay if there's a little bit of flour, and then you flip one and it's ready."
