ATLANTA -- Some of the most popular thrift stores in metro Atlanta help shoppers save money while helping those in need.
Attic Treasures in Chamblee features clothing for adults and children as well as household items, many for just a few dollars. Volunteers keep the displays seasonal and the store well organized, and all the proceeds benefit the Assistance League of Atlanta. The nonprofit helps homeless families get back on their feet, assists children with school supplies and supports patients who are undergoing rehabilitation at the Sheperd Center. The twice yearly "fill a bag" sale draws big crowds. Attic Treasures is located at 3534 Broad Street, Chamblee, GA 30341 Phone: 770-458-2038. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m and Thursday, 10 a.m to 7 p.m.
Wellspring Treasures on Highland Avenue is a relatively new thrift boutique with mostly women's clothing. It's nestled alongside trendy high-end boutiques in the popular Virginia Highland neighborhood. It's one of several Wellspring Living stores that benefit rehab programs for victims of human trafficking. Wellspring Treasures opened in April. It is located at 784 N Highland NE Atlanta, GA 30306. Hours are Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Clothes Less Traveled is one of Peachtree City's most popular thrift stores. It features clothing, accessories, household items, sports equipment, toys and games. July 5th nearly everything in the store will be marked 50 percent off. The first 500 customers at the July 5th sale also get a free lunch of hot dogs, chips and drinks. Clothes Less Traveled is located at 459 Hwy 74, Peachtree City, Georgia 30269. Hours are Monday through Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
